A southwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand today.
The chill in the air is starting to leave today with most regions experiencing average day time high temperatures for the time of year. Noticeably parts of Southland and Otago are still a bit cool. The warmest centre is Kaitaia at 21, the coolest is Invercargill with 11 degrees.
Average overnight lows for the North Island tonight, average to cool overnight lows for the South Island. Overnight lows of between 4 to 6 degrees about Southland and Otago.
