Most regions around New Zealand are besieged by cold conditions today, day time max temperatures for a smattering of centres can be seen in the numerical figures below. Just coastal parts of South Westland pip the trend with slightly warmer than average day time highs, although don’t expect anything tropical, highs will likely be between 9 to 12 degrees.

Cold overnight lows for most regions tonight, everyone (nearly) dips below double figures. Just the northern part of Northland holds above 10.
