Nothing too cold on the way tonight, nothing overly warm either but then again temperatures in some spots are leaning to being a little warmer than average for most. The warmest overnight low will likely be about Kaitaia on 13 meanwhile the coldest spots will be about the inner South Island from Central Otago up through to inland Marlborough getting down to 2 degrees. Marlborough may see some fog form overnight due to clear skies and some cooling.
Cool southerly quarter winds keep temperatures down for the southern / eastern South Island on Tuesday. Average to warmer than average temperatures for most other regions around New Zealand.
The warmest day time highs will likely go to the eastern North Island and Northland on 16 to 17 degrees. The coolest temperatures about the lower South Island around 8 to 9 degrees.
And yes that’s right, only 7 days till spring.
