Northeasterly winds bring warmer than average temperatures to Northland and Auckland today, highs reach up to 17 to 19 degrees. A bit cooler in the east with cloud and showers keeping highs around 12 to 13 degrees. The South Islands West Coast once again experiences warm temperatures and sunny skies due to northwest like conditions Canterbury normally gets in the form of a southeast. Cool in the east today.
Clear skies bring cool temperatures to the far south of the South Island tonight, frosts likely by dawn on Friday. Average to warmer than average overnight lows for the rest of New Zealand.
