A ridge of high pressure brings cool overnight temperatures to some North Island regions, inland eastern parts drop down to 1 or 2 degrees by dawn on Wednesday. Not to be out done some inland parts of the South Island may drop to 1 or 2 overnight but being further south in latitude is a little more expected.
Warmer than normal temperatures for most of New Zealand on Wednesday. Eastern coastal parts of the South Island may not feel all that warm though as northeasterly breeze passes through. The warmest highs will likely be about the North Island’s east coast and Northland / Auckland, getting up to 16 degrees. The coolest day time highs will be Central Otago getting to about 10 degrees.
