Sunday’s national forecast – plenty of rain clouds today, except the very south of NZ

Rain continues over the North Island today with heaviest falls in the Upper North Island while sunniest weather is most likely in the Lower South Island.

NORTH ISLAND:
Rain, heavy at times, slowly tracking eastwards over the Upper North Island. Over the Lower North Island expect patchy rain with dry spells. Winds from the northerly quarter.
Highs: 16 to 22

SOUTH ISLAND:
Patchy rain developing for the upper half of the South Island. Dry for the lower half with sunny spells more likely the further south you go. Winds mainly from the easterly quarter.
Highs: 11 to 17
