Sunday’s national forecast – Few showers in the north

> From the WeatherWatch archives

High pressure brings mainly settled weather to New Zealand today, a few showers for some parts of the North Island though thanks to an eastern airflow.

North Island

Cloudy in the east with the odd shower, Wairarapa is mainly dry though. A mix of mid and high level cloud out west, the odd shower for Northland especially in the east. Easterly winds for the upper North Island, southeasterlies further south.

South Island

Mostly sunny but expect some high cloud, light winds then afternoon sea breezes. Central Otago may see a few isolated showers develop about hills and ranges late afternoon / evening.
