Upper North Island

Sunny spells with southwesterly breezes easing during the day and dying out by evening, chance of a brief morning shower for western regions. Some high cloud develops from evening about Auckland and Northland. Expect mostly sunny weather about the Bay Of Plenty during the day.

Lower North Island

Sunny spells and some cloud, south to southwesterly winds ease during the day dying out in the evening. Winds tend northeastrly in the evening.

Upper South Island

Sunny or becoming sunny in the morning with southerly breezes dying out along the east coast. Winds tend northeast in the afternoon. Chance of an isolated shower about the Nelson Lakes District in the afternoon.

Lower South Island

Sunny or becoming sunny in the morning, early showers and snow flurries to 200m about Southland and coastal Otago clear. Cool southwesterly winds die out in the afternoon. Westerlies stick around about Southland for much of the day.

Straight S for us in Kapiti, arrived with a bark and a 6 degree drop from 11 to 5. Light shower at the start. No complaints at all today, S with clear sky this arvo. Nice.
