Sunday’s national forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Generally speaking, it looks like today won’t be as windy or wet as yesterday.  But, it’s not going to exactly be settled either.

Showers will be spread all over the country today.  The far eastern regions of both islands will not see as much rain as the western regions, but will still get at least some rain.

Pockets of heavy rain are still possible today, as are a few thunderstorms.  The best chance for that will be about the West Coast, Nelson, Taranaki and the southern Waikato.  Wellington and the surrounding area could also see a few quick bursts of heavy rain.  There were also be a few thunderstorms.

Across the country, winds will be gusty today but are not expected to be as bad as yesterday.  No severe gales are expected.
