Sunday’s national forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

High pressure dominates New Zealand for the most part today but there are a few showers here and there.

ALL OF NEW ZEALAND:
A mix of sun and cloud with a warm afternoon for many regions. It will be cooler in Southland and Otago with patchy rain or showers in the area. There will also be showers around the eastern North Island, although Sunday should be warmer than Saturday was.

The only other shower risk is really inland for the upper North Island where a few afternoon downpours may also develop.

Winds are light for many with a westerly tilt for some in the eastern North Island a cooler SW tilt in the lower South Island. A southerly develops in Wellington today bringing a cooler afternoon than Saturday – same goes for parts of Wairarapa too.

Highs: 11 to 21
