Upper North Island

A few patchy morning showers clearing away then sunny spells increase from afternoon, moderate southwesterly breezes. Afternoon temperatures in the high teens or early twenties.

Lower North Island

Morning showers clear then sunny areas increase from afternoon, cool south to southwesterly winds ease during the day. Afternoon temperatures in the mid to high teens.

Upper South Island

Any early showers clear then conditions are mainly sunny, some cloud may hang about parts of Buller and the Marlborough Sounds during the day. Southwesterlies ease then winds tending onshore in the afternoon. Afternoon temperatures in the low to mid teens. Possibly getting into the high teens in the afternoon for Nelson.

Lower South Island

Coastal Southland and Otago sees some cloud and the odd shower, showers gradually clearing away in the afternoon although areas of cloud may remain. Mostly sunny for inland areas and for Fiordland although some cloud hangs about southern parts of Fiordland during the day. Southwesterly winds, fresh in the east gradually ease during the day. Afternoon temperatures in the low double figure arena.
