Upper North Island

Cloudy areas and occasional sun, a shower or two possible also during the day. Winds brisk to strong from the southwest. The Bay Of Plenty staying mainly dry with longer sunny spells.

Lower North Island

Early rain eases to showers in the west, breezy west to southwesterly winds. Showers (possibly heavy) about the Wairarapa in the morning then the odd shower spreading northwards in the afternoon as westerlies tend southwest. Some sun before showers move in.

Upper South Island

The odd shower for North Westland, west to southwesterly winds. Nelson is mainly sunny. Marlborough has some sun in the morning then cloud a little more frequent after midday with the chance of a shower. Canterbury sees morning showers (possibly heavy early on) ease then clear, sunny areas increase in the afternoon with cool southwesterlies easing.

Lower South Island

Sunny spells, showers move in late afternoon / evening as southwesterly winds freshen.
