Upper North Island

Cloud, more frequent this morning then sunny spells break through this afternoon. There may be a shower or two about also, mainly this morning. Southwesterly winds gradually tend westerly.

Lower North Island

Cloudy areas in the west this morning, some sun breaking through this afternoon. Chance of a shower or two mainly this morning. The east coast sees morning showers clear then sunny spells, cloud builds after midday however with the low risk of an isolated shower late afternoon / evening, southwesterlies tend easterly this afternoon near the coast.

Upper South Island

Fairly cloudy, perhaps some sun about at times mainly this afternoon. A few showers about this morning mainly in the west and north clearing around midday although for some inland areas a shower or two may spring up this afternoon. Westerly winds in the west and east to northeast breezes in the east.

Lower South Island

Cloudy areas and the odd shower about, some parts of Southland and southern Otago may start the day with mainly sunny skies then cloud building a little towards midday. South Westland staying mainly sunny for much of the day.
