Sunday’s national forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A small, but potent ridge of high pressure will keep the country’s weather pretty settled today.

Most areas should see plenty of sunshine with a mix of clouds from time to time.  Gisborne and East Cape may be in for a few showers today as a ribbon of disturbed air continues to linger just off the eastern coast.

Temperatures are starting off pretty cold, much like they did yesterday morning.  Highs will push into the lower to mid teens about the North Island and upper regions of the South Island.  The lower SI will struggle to break the 10 degree mark.

cold and wet all day here in Kaitaia, what happened to the high that was heading our way?

I had actually thought about putting cloud cover in for Northland when I wrote this early this morning.  In fact, I had it written in my first draft of this.  Should’ve left it in.  That bugger of a disturbance just north of the country kept your area in clouds today.
