Upper North Island

Sunny areas this morning, the odd shower from afternoon with breezy southwesterly winds.

Lower North Island

Areas of cloud with westerly winds, mainly dry this morning then expect a few showers from afternoon. Rain develops about Wellington this afternoon with Southerly winds. The East Coast has mainly sunny weather this morning, showers  develop about the Wairarapa this morning however on a Southerly change spreading further north in the evening.

Upper South Island

Morning sunny areas, showers move in this afternoon as southwesterly winds freshen.

Lower South Island

Showers about Southland and Otago, turning to rain late afternoon or evening. Southwesterly winds strengthen during today. The West Coast Hokitika southwards is mainly sunny with southwesterly winds.
