Lower North Island

Mainly sunny conditions, some high cloud. West to southwesterly winds. Wellington sees a mainly sunny start then a few clouds towards midday as winds change southerly. The east coast is mostly sunny, light winds changing southerly this afternoon, some cloud gradually develops mainly evening.

Upper South Island

Cloudy areas in the west with west to southwesterly winds, sunny areas and some high cloud for Nelson and Marlborough. Canterbury sees morning sun then some cloud towards midday, winds may briefly tend southerly for a time then swinging to the east or northeast this afternoon.

Lower South Island

Mostly cloudy with breezy west to southwest winds, chance of the odd shower about Southland. Coastal Otago sees areas of sun at times
