Upper North Island

Early rain eases to the odd shower, perhaps becoming mainly dry. Sunny areas break through also with winds breezy from the southwest.

Lower North Island

Areas of cloud with breezy west to southwest winds, chance of a shower or two mainly in the west. Sunny areas for Wellington and mostly sunny along the east coast after any early showers clear.

Upper South Island

Mostly cloudy along the West Coast with the odd shower, winds from the southwest. Mainly sunny for Nelson. Along the east coast it starts out sunny then southerly winds move in during the morning in Canterbury and afternoon for Marlborough bringing some cloud and the risk of a shower, especially in Canterbury. Winds then move around to the northeast.

Lower South Island

Morning rain eases to showers, breezy west to southwesterly winds. Becoming dry by midday about coastal Otago with sunny areas then breaking through. Becoming dry about Southland by evening.
