Upper North Island

Areas of cloud about Northland with showers, Auckland southwards sees early showers clear then expect some sun. Late afternoon / evening a few further isolated showers may develop however some of which could be heavy, southeasterly winds.

Lower North Island

Mostly cloudy along the east coast and about Wellington with showers, mostly sunny in the west although a few showers may spread from the east at times into parts close to the ranges. Winds breezy from the east or southeast.

Upper South Island

Morning rain in the east eases to the odd shower which mostly clears by evening, winds cool from the southwest. Some snow to 600m. Nelson sees cloud areas and southeasterly winds, perhaps a shower about mainly morning. Mostly sunny in the west with southeasterly winds.

Lower South Island

Morning showers and snow to 400m clears in the east then cloud breaks in the afternoon, south to southwesterly winds. Mostly sunny in the west and about Southland after morning cloud clears, winds from the southerly quarter.
