Upper North Island

Mostly cloudy with the odd light patchy shower about, northwesterly breezes.

Lower North Island

Mostly cloudy in the west and about Wellington, the odd patchy shower possible at times, winds from the west or northwest. Along the east coast expect mainly dry conditions but there will be plenty of high cloud, nrothwesterly winds.

Upper South Island

Mostly cloudy, rain moves into North Westland and Buller during the afternoon. By evening spells of rain move into Nelson, Marlborough and Banks Peninsula northwards for Canterbury. Winds from the west or northwest then easing in the evening.

Lower South Island

Morning rain in the west then clearing in the afternoon, High cloud out east with the chance of a spot of rain in the morning then high cloud decreasing in the afternoon with winds becoming light or perhaps tending southwest for a time. High cloud thickens again by evening in the east.
