What a pleasant change for most regions today – light winds, plenty of sunshine but a few coastal clouds are pushing into some areas.
The clouds are are affecting west Auckland, some areas around Cook Strait (South Taranaki, Wanganui and over to the outer Marlborough Sounds and towards Kapiti) and also northern Hawkes Bay and Gisborne region.
But despite the cloudy patches near some coastlines a quick glance of the satellite map shows over 95% of the country is cloud free today.
Temperature-wise and conditions are mild in the north but remain much lower in the south. Many South Island centres are still in single digits but with little wind and plenty of sunny skies most won’t be complaining.
The settled weather is expected to last well into the coming week with almost no chance of severe weather in the next few days.

Well what a day In Te Puke. Sun all day, got out and cut up the fire wood, dig out the washing line and moved it so that it gets the sun in the winter all day long, and just enjoyed the rest of the day, love having a north facing home large windows… all day sun…
cheers

HI Phil, Been mostly cloudy up here in Whangarei, occasional bursts of sun & blue sky but not enough to raise temp overly. My outside temp gauge is showing 14 deg. Early morning was great but by 10am clouds had covered us.
But it is dry, so am well pleased about that, we need some good dry weather for awhile allowing the ground to dry out from the wet, muddy stuff that it is at the moment then I could perhaps get a good run at cutting the grass.
