A low and associated front affect the North Island tonight, heavy rain moves out of the Bay Of Plenty and potentially could affect eastern regions by dawn. The South Island sees mainly clear skies in the far south, cloud gradually breaks up elsewhere overnight.
Northland, Auckland & Waikato
The odd shower gradually clearing this evening, clear spells and some cloud for the rest of the night. Light winds. Northern parts of Northland however have a higher chance of showers tonight.

Rain eases this evening to showers, light winds gradually tending southeast.

Eastern North Island
Cloudy with some rain about Gisborne spreading elsewhere this evening. East to northeast winds. Rain may be heavy towards dawn.

Western North Island
High cloud with east to southeast winds, any showers clearing this evening.

Wellington
Cloudy spells breaking up a little overnight, light winds tend southeast.

Light rain or drizzle clearing this evening, cloud spells breaking up towards dawn tomorrow. Light winds.

Any drizzle patch clear this evening, cloud gradually breaks up a little through the night. Light winds.
