A low pressure system moves away to the northeast of the North Island overnight and with it goes showers which clear from most northern areas this evening, the odd one continues about Northland and possibly Gisborne. In the South Island skies are mainly dry although the West Coast sees showers.

Auckland & Northland
Showers clear about Auckland this evening with clear spells overnight, light southwesterlies. The odd shower continues about Northland overnight, especially in the west.
Lows tonight: 8-10

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island
The odd shower clearing this evening as winds tend southeasterly. Skies clearing up overnight.
Lows tonight: 5-8

Eastern North Island
Mainly clear with some high cloud possible, light winds. Some cloud about Gisborne with the chance of a spit or two overnight.
Low tonight: 5-6

Western North Island
Areas of high cloud with light winds tending easterly.
Lows tonight: 7-8

Wellington
Clear with some cloud, light winds tend northerly.
Low tonight: 9

Wellington
Clear with some cloud, light winds tend northerly.
Low tonight: 9

Marlborough
Mainly clear with some high cloud, light winds tend southwest about Nelson.
Low tonight: 6-7

Canterbury
Clear spells, light winds.
Low tonight: 4

West Coast
Cloudy with the odd shower or drizzle patch, light winds gradually tend southwest.
Lows tonight: 7-8

Coastal Otago
Clear spells with light winds tending easterly.
Low tonight: 7

Central Otago
Cloudy periods with light winds, chance of a shower towards dawn.
Low tonight: 4

Southland
Cloudy with the odd light shower possible, west to northwest winds. Winds change westerly around dawn tomorrow with a more sustained period of showers.
