Well it probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise but this summer was definitely one not to remember and many are hopeful that Autumn settles down to give us a some sort of Indian summer possibly.
Earlier today we asked for ratings and comments about our Kiwi summer and to say the least there weren’t many rave reviews.
Horace commented to WeatherWatch.co.nz “If I gave summer a 5 out of 10 it would indicate that I’m relatively satisfied with the weather over the past three months. I am not so a 4 it is. I have been trying to spray the weeds around here for weeks. You can only spray the weeds on a day when you’re fairly sure you will have no rain for about 8 hours. Needless to say the weeds are growing nicely in the garden. And yes, I’ve realised that weed killer isn’t good for anybody anyway so I will get out and pull them out myself. After a rather crap 2011, summer hasn’t really cheered us up to any great extent. Looking forward to autumn and winter now to warm the heart. Lovely time of year”.
On our facebook page David Harris had this to say about the Bay of Plenty.. “Not to bad for us overall. We have had some truly beautiful days, some rain, a bit of wind, a bit too much cloud at times and maybe a bit more humidity than we would like but overall it has been an okay summer. Now roll on my favourite season Autumn. Ohauiti, just SW of Tauranga.
Aimee Perry just put it succinctly “Yeah not much of a summer this year. Maybe next year we will get one”.
Thanks for your comments and sadly the summer has been ordinary for many of us and dare we even suggest the much of March looks like a similar pattern?? We’re hoping we get it wrong!.
