Strong winds will continue to push over New Zealand today as a large storm in the Southern Ocean side swipes us.
WeatherWatch.co.nz says the winds will come and go with the bulk of main centres avoiding severe gales over the coming days but numerous regional warnings are likely.
The regional warnings cover a greater area and include the exposed place that are more vulnerable to severe weather.
For many places, in between showers it will be sunny with the sunniest weather likely along the east coast of the country.
With most of the main fronts there will be two or three large shower bands that follow over the next 6 hours – and this is expected to continue for another week.
For those that don’t want any further rain there is some good news – due to the strong nature of the winds all fronts and showers should be moving at quite a pace.
