VIDEO: Stormy westerlies about to return to NZ + our latest Christmas Day forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A cooler, more refreshing change is on the way for NZ with northern areas finally seeing the humidity ease and elsewhere those big downpours also clearing.

However by Sunday and the start of next week a very windy Westerly set up moves in. The Southern Ocean weather pattern will take over from the La Nina one for many regions.

Heavy rain and Severe Gales are possible across large parts of NZ as of Sunday/Monday.
