The next two days see a cooler sou’west change but sunnier spells increasing, especially in the South Island.
But by Friday a strengthening nor’west flow will push down over the North Island (warm) with a burst of wind and possibly gales on Saturday as the centre of a low moves in.
On Saturday a cold southerly will hit the South Island with snow to lower levels – and on Sunday the whole country will be colder with windy sou’westers.
A stormy spring weekend – followed by a settling high early next week.
