Spring patterns – The Big Picture on Friday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

As we head into the weekend, it’s looking like a fairly pleasant spring day for most, with plenty of sunshine about in both islands.

The upper North Island and East Coast may be in for some showers at times during the day, but anything rain-related will be brief and relatively gentle.

The rest of the North Island is looking clear and settled, which also describes the South Island’s east coast for the most part.

On the West Coast, Southland and Otago, a mostly sunny day ends a bit gloomier, with cloud cover moving in late on.
