A warm airflow across New Zealand means a warm week is on the way for Southland and Otago. There have been a few cold changes recently with some days struggling to make it much into double digits.
However Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week look warm to hot with highs in the low to mid-20s especially inland.
Weather will also be mostly dry but Southland does need some wet weather (currently parts of the region are drier than average).
A cold front on Friday will see temperatures tumble and wet weather move in. This coming weekend looks colder with next Monday looking colder still.
It’s a fairly typical Autumn pattern with temperature swings but this week will feel more like summer, weather that’s well overdue according to some locals!

Those computer generated forecasts/temps that you use for some places are taken with a grain of salt…
