Some settled weather on the way

> From the WeatherWatch archives

There is some settled and mainly sunny weather on the way, this will apply to many parts of the country. Not everyone will get settled and sunny conditions at the same time as there are often little nuances within highs bringing cloudy days or showers to certain regions at various times.

None the less some regions will start to experience this settled weather coming in from tomorrow over the South Island, more likely from Friday where the south, west and north of the South Island are looking very good. Canterbury and coastal Otago see cloudy areas however with easterlies. The North Island has a lingering front which brings some rain or showers.

Saturday sees great weather for most of the South Island due to a ridge of high pressure. A front still bothers the North Island which slowly slinks southwards during the day. Sunday looks better for northern and western parts of the North Island while areas of rain or showers affect eastern regions. Some cloud builds for the west of the South Island with showers slowly moving into South Westland during the day.

Monday has a large high positioned east of New Zealand extending a ridge over the country, much of the North Island and eastern South Island has good weather. The West Coast a bit cloudier with a few showers, especially in the south. The same applies to Tuesday next week.

A large high sets up camp east of New Zealand from Saturday which will bring some settled weather to New Zealand.
