Although it shouldn’t be chilly, skies are expected to be burdened with plenty of cloud along with showers and rain today across much of New Zealand.
The deep south and some eastern areas of the country, including Wellington shouldn’t see too much precipitation but elsewhere it might pay to keep a jacket and umbrella handy if you’re heading outside. Sport could be the loser today in many centres with some soggy ground conditions causing a few problems.
The good news is that it shouldn’t be cold and temperatures everywhere should remain in double figures however a weak sou’ west wind change might slice a degree or 2 off the mercury as it slides up the mainland.
Tomorrow the North Island is still likely to see the wet stuff fall but the mainland is likely to be the best place especially in inland areas.

It has been pouring here in Whitianga area all night. The wind has now dropped a little. I think we will be getting more than 160 predicted.
