A cold front is about to move northwards up New Zealand but is falling apart as it does so. It will mostly bring showers into many regions with rain more likely on the West Coast, Southland and Otago.
Rainfall numbers aren’t huge, with 5 to 15mm the most common spread. The further north you go, the lower the rainfall totals generally are and the south and west of the South Island has the greatest totals.
