Showers around the country – The Big Picture on Thursday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A southwesterly airflow lies over the country on Thursday, while a front is set to move over the North Island in the morning.

Overnight, a ridge pushes over much of the country from the west, with light winds and clear skies developing for most.

Most regions see a few showers for a time, but some areas will see sun.
Isolated showers are possible from Cantebrury northwards – mainly for inland areas in the afternoon and evening – then clearing.
There’s a chance of small hail in these showers, too.

Overnight frosts are possible for many inland areas.
