Settled evening on the way, finally

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Yes no mention of strong winds or rain this Saturday evening, finally we have some high pressure to welcome the weekend in and this will likely bring mainly settled weather across the country tonight and tomorrow.

For Auckland expect a few spells of cloud but clear areas too, southwesterly breezes ease this evening becoming light later. The low overnight drops to 11 degrees.

Wellington will see a mainly clear evening, northerly winds may be a little breezy at times then easing a little overnight. Temperatures drop down to a respectable 11 degrees.

Chch looks primed for many a bbq this evening, temperatures will have been reasonably mild today and should stay warm into the evening. However overnight as winds drop out and considering skies will be clear she drops down to 5 degrees so a little nippy.

And of course the big match in Dunedin tonight, conditions will be dry with some high cloud. Winds will be from the northwest. But then again not much of this matters with the stadium being covered but it should be a good night on the town afterwards.
