Just drizzle or rain here, not a lot of wind.

I wonder if the prine trees suffer from a domino effect?
i.e each tree pushing against the one next to it from the wind , but then the tree next to the road has no supporting tree next to it and so gets pushed over (helped by the wet ground)

It was a wild night from about 2am- 9am with huge gusts from the SE direction which isn’t our usual wind. The metservice recordings at our local airport (Parparaumu) had gusts of 93km/h when I left for work at 6.30am.
The wind seems to be picking up again now 4pm, with the odd shower on/off all day. Noticed
a few trees down, not sure how the rest of the country is?

In Te Puke at 1:10 p.m. the weather is still, little wind, 1.1km/h from the SW, its stoped raining. Its 16.1C and there has been 64.23mm of rain since 12 a.m. with the heavest fall at 7 a.m. this morning.
