A sou’west flow covers much of New Zealand today producing a few showers here and there and slightly windier conditions for a few. Generally speaking the nation looks dry with a little high pressure left over the upper North Island. Winds in most regions are west to south west today.

Auckland Northland Waikato BOP
Fairly settled with a slight west to south west breeze. A mix of sun and cloud.
Highs: 23 to 26
Lows: 12 to 15

Western North Island (also Central Plateau)
Fairly settled with a slight west to south west breeze. A mix of sun and cloud. Might be an early shower around Taranaki.
Highs: 21 to 24
Low: 12 to 14

Eastern North Island

Mostly Sunny with light winds or a light westerly. Westerlies pick up more around Wairarapa where it may also be a bit cloudier with the chance of a shower in the ranges. Hot in Hawke’s Bay and Gisborne.
High:  22 to 29
Low: 12 to 15

 

Wellington
Breezy to brisk nor’westers with the chance of a shower, especially over in Kapiti, otherwise mostly dry.
High: 21
Low: 14

Nelson & Marlborough
Light winds mainly from the west. Mostly dry but a few morning showers or downpours in the Nelson region.
High: 23 to 25
Low: 11 to 13


West Coast
Early showers clear to a mainly dry day with west to south west winds. May be a rogue lingering shower still. A slightly cooler day.
Highs: 16
Low: 11


Canterbury
Becoming mainly sunny, may be a shower early in North Canterbury. Light winds from the WSW
High: 20 to 22
Low: 1o to 12

Southland and Otago
Cloudy areas, might be a shower. Breezy to brisk winds from the west.
Highs:  14 to 18
Lows: 11
