High pressure lies across New Zealand today, southerly winds for the North Island ease. A few showers for the eastern North Island and some for the West Coast further south.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Morning cloud then mostly sunny, southerlies tend to the southwest in the afternoon.
Highs: 14-15
Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Cloudy areas, there may be a light shower or two about otherwise mainly dry. Sun breaking through in the afternoon near coastal parts. Light winds.
Highs: 8-14
Eastern North Island
Mostly cloudy with occasional light showers, clearing Wairarapa in the evening then elsewhere overnight. Southerly winds.
Highs: 9-12
Wellington
A light shower or two possible then sunny spells increase from afternoon, southeasterlies ease tending light northerly at night.
Highs: 11-12
Marlborough & Nelson
Early cloudy, perhaps a light shower for coastal Marlborough then mostly sunny. Some afternoon cloud possible about the ranges though. Southerly winds tend north or northeast in the afternoon.

Canterbury
Morning cloud then mostly sunny, some afternoon cloud possible. East to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 10-12
West Coast
Mostly cloudy with occasional showers, northeasterly winds.

Southland & Otago
A frosty start, morning cloud for coastal Otago breaks away. Mostly sunny otherwise but there may be some cloud in the afternoon. East to northeasterly winds.
