Anticyclonic weather moves over the North Island today bringing mainly settled weather, expect cloud at times in the west, sunny in the east. For the South Island conditions are similar although showers will affect the West Coast, high cloud and dry out east.

Auckland & Northland
Sunny and cloudy spells with light southwesterlies, low risk of a brief light shower floating about otherwise expect a mainly dry day.
High: 15-16

Bay Of Plenty
Sunny with light southwesterlies.
High: 16

Central North Island & Waikato
Sunny and cloudy spells with southwesterly breezes.
Highs: 12-14

Eastern North Island
Sunny with light winds, tending northeast in the afternoon for Hawkes Bay and Gisborne.
High: 15

Western North Island
Cloudy periods with the odd sunny break at times, westerly breezes. Winds tend more southwest about northern Taranaki. There is the low risk of a brief light shower at times on the coast otherwise expect a mainly dry day.
Highs: 14-15

Wellington
Sunny spells and some cloud with northerly breezes.
High: 13

Nelson
Sunny with a few clouds, light southwest winds.
Highs: 14-15

Marlborough
Sunny with light winds, there may be a few small patches of high cloud.
High: 15

Canterbury
Sunny areas with high cloud, light winds.
Highs: 15-16

West Coast
Mainly cloudy with showers at times, light winds.
Highs: 12-13

Coastal Otago
Sunny with some high cloud, light winds tend northwest.
Highs: 13-14

Central Otago
Sunny with some high cloud, west to northwest breezes. There is the risk of a shower spreading into western parts of the district in the morning.
High: 11

Southland
Showers, clearing early afternoon with sunny areas then developing. Northwesterly winds.
Highs: 12-13
