Anticyclonic weather continues today with plenty of cloud about the country, eastern areas of both island should see sunshine and warm temperatures as a northwesterly airflow gradually develops over the South Island.
Northland
Some morning cloud clears to a mostly sunny day, light winds. Fog patches at night in sheltered areas.
High: 15-16
Auckland
Morning cloud periods with the chance of some drizzle, a few sunny spells develop into the afternoon. Light winds. Could be a fog patch or two overnight.
High: 15-16
Bay Of Plenty
Sunny with some cloud, light winds.
Highs: 17
Central North Island & Waikato
Mostly cloudy skies with a drizzle patch or two possible at times, mainly morning. There could be a sunny break in the afternoon. Light winds. Overnight fog may develop as general cloudy breaks up a little.
Highs: 13-15
Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny with pleasent temperatures and light winds, northwest breezes about Wairarapa.
Highs: 16-17
Western North Island
Mainly cloudy skies with the odd drizzle patch at times, mainly morning. Light west to northwesterly breezes.
Highs: 14-15
Wellington
Cloudy spells and the odd sunny break at times. Northerly breezes becoming a little brisk late afternoon.
Highs: 13-14
Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with light winds, northwest breezes develop in the afternoon about Marlborough. Mild temperatures.
Highs: 16-18
Canterbury
Sunny with light winds, northwest breezes for some inland areas. High cloud develops about South Canterbury in the afternoon then further north in the evening.

West Coast
Cloudy with drizzle patches, light winds. Rain moves into South Westland in the evening.

Southland & Otago
Sunny with high cloud thickening during the day, north to northwest breezes. Warmest temperatures about Southland and coastal Otago.
