High pressure centred over the Tasman today will keep most of the country dry with just a few exceptions.

Upper North Island

Mainly cloudy early with decreasing clouds during the late morning and afternoon hours.  Moderate south-westerly breezes.

Highs: 22-25

Lower North Island

A mix of clouds and sun except in the east where mainly cloudy skies are expected.  A few showers are possible this afternoon from Gisborne to Hawkes Bay.

Highs: 20-24

Upper South Island

Sunny skies with a few clouds building up in the afternoon.  Light southerlies turning easterly.

Highs 20-24

Lower South Island

A mix of sun and clouds.

Highs 18-22
