A large anticyclone lies to the east of the country today directing a northeasterly airflow over New Zealand.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny spells, a few isolated showers possible. Skies about Waikato and Bay Of Plenty may be a bit cloudier then elsewhere. East to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 21-24

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny, some cloud and the chance of an isolated shower afternoon / evening. Light winds.
Highs: 20-24

Eastern North Island
Mostly cloudy with a light shower or two, mainly morning with dry areas increasing from afternoon. East to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 18-21

Wellington
Mostly sunny, light winds.
High: 22

Marlborough & Nelson
Morning cloud then sunny spells, afternoon east to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 20-23

Canterbury
Morning cloud then sunny spells, east to northeast winds becoming breezy in the afternoon near the coast.
Highs: 18-20

West Coast
A mix of sun and cloud, there may be a shower about the ranges late afternoon / evening otherwise mainly dry. Light winds.
Highs: 21-23

Southland & Otago
Sunny with light winds, breezy east to northeast winds about coastal Otago in the afternoon.
Highs: 20-24
