Mostly anticyclonic for the North Island today bringing mainly settled conditions, a slight area of low pressure and a weak frontal zone bring a few showers or some rain to some South Island regions.
Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, light winds then afternoon sea breezes.
Highs: 21-23
Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, light winds then afternoon sea breezes. Kapiti may see some cloud in the morning, perhaps even a drizzle patch then breaking away in the afternoon.
Highs: 19-21
Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny with light winds then afternoon east to northeast breezes. About the ranges of Hawkes Bay and Gisborne isolated showers develop during the afternoon, some may become heavy with a risk of thunder then
clearing in the evening.

Wellington
Mostly cloudy with breezy northwesterly winds.
High: 18
Marlborough & Nelson
A mix of high and mid level cloud, chance spit or shower for a brief moment in the evening otherwise mainly dry. North to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 18-22
Canterbury
Some morning rain or showers then easing and dry areas becoming more frequent especially near the coast, the odd shower or drizzle patch may stick around for inland areas for much of the day. Winds from the northeast.
Highs: 15-18
West Coast
Periods of rain for North Westland, may be an isolated heavy fall otherwise moderate falls for most of the day. South Westland just sees occasional showers and dry spells. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 15-17
Southland & Otago
Any early showers clear then expect sunny spells, showers develop in the afternoon (chance of an isolated heavy fall) then easing overnight. Light winds gradually tend to the southwest.
Highs: 15-20
