An anticyclone lies over the North Island today, northerlies for the South Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of sun and cloud, light winds. Northland has some morning sun then cloud thickens up in the afternoon bringing the chance of a light shower or two, otherwise staying mainly dry.
Highs: 18-20

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, west to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 17-21

Eastern North Island
Sunny with afternoon east to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 17-20

Wellington
Mostly cloudy with gusty north to northwesterly winds, a few late evening showers possible.
High: 15

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 17-21

Canterbury
Sunny with light east to northeast winds.
Highs: 18-19

West Coast
Sunny spells for North Westland, cloudier further south with the odd shower. Northerly winds.
Highs: 15-18

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 20-21
