Anticyclonic conditions brings mainly settled weather for the South Island today, southeasterlies for the North Island bring rain in the east and the chance of a shower out west.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly sunny weather with southerly winds. Some afternoon cloud Auckland southwards as southerlies tend more southwest may bring a few isolated showers then clearing away in the evening.
Highs: 16-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny with southeasterly winds, gusty about coastal areas then easing in the evening. Some cloud spills into the Central North Island and Manawatu from the east at times, especially morning.
Highs: 10-14

Eastern North Island
Areas of rain easing to showers in the afternoon, cool southerly winds.
Highs: 12-13

Wellington
Cloudy areas and the chance of a shower or two, cool south to southeasterly winds.
High: 10-11

Marlborough & Nelson
Mostly sunny after any morning cloud breaks away. Easterly winds for Marlborough, light afternoon northerlies in Nelson.
Highs: 13-14

Canterbury
Mainly sunny after any morning cloud breaks away, east to northeast winds.
Highs: 10-12

West Coast
Sunny with light winds, some cloud develops about South Westland from late afternoon or evening.
Highs: 13-15

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny, there may be a touch of morning cloud. Easterly quarter winds.
Highs: 11-14
