A blustery west to southwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand today.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Cloudy areas and occasional showers, Northland has a mainly dry day although a shower or two may appear in the west by evening. The Bay Of Plenty has a dry morning with the chance of a shower or two from afternoon. Westerly winds.
Highs: 19-22

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly cloudy with a few showers, gusty west to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 16-19

Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, winds from the west or northwest. Overnight a southwest change pushes into Wairarapa with a few showers.
Highs: 19-23

Wellington
Sunny spells with gusty northwesterly winds. Overnight a southerly change may bring a few showers.
High: 18

Marlborough & Nelson
Areas of cloud and occasional sun, gusty west to northwest winds. Overnight a brief southwest change may bring a shower or two.
Highs: 16-19

Canterbury
Sunny areas and some high cloud with winds from the northwest, during the afternoon a southwest change pushes northwards bringing a period of showers which then clear overnight. Showers will mostly be coastal although they may push inland for a time in the evening.
Highs: 16-19

West Coast
Showers, some may be heavy. Gusty westerlies tend southwest late afternoon or evening. Showers mostly clearing overnight.
Highs: 13-15

Southland & Otago
Showers, heavy at times with hail possible then easing in the evening. Showers about Otago a little less frequent then Southland, there may also be some sun break through now and then. Strong cold west to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 10-13
