Fairly settled for the North Island today under a ridge of high pressure although there may be a shower or two about, a front pushes northwards and weakens over the South Island during the day.
Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A chance of early fog then expect a mix of sun and cloud, high cloud thickens from afternoon. Chance of an isolated shower in the afternoon / evening, many dry areas also. Winds light from the northerly quarter.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Sunny areas and some cloud, chance of a shower late afternoon / evening otherwise mainly dry. West to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 24-27
Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, northwesterly breezes for most. Afternoon east to northeasterly winds for coastal Hawkes Bay.
Highs: 26-30
Wellington
Cloudy areas with gusty northwesterly winds.
High: 23
Marlborough & Nelson
Mostly cloudy, chance spot of rain around midday otherwise mainly dry. Cloud starts to break away during the afternoon. Winds gusty from the northwest about Marlborough then easing later in the day.
Highs: 25-30
Canterbury
Morning high cloud with north to northwesterly winds in the morning, gusty about inland areas. Becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon with winds changing southerly for a time then tending easterly in the evening.
Highs: 25-29
West Coast
Morning rain with heavy falls and possible thunderstorms then easing to showers around midday and clearing in the afternoon, sunny areas then increase. Breezy northwesterlies change southwest in the afternoon.
Highs: 21-22
Southland & Otago
Morning showers clear then becoming mostly sunny, west to northwesterly winds becoming gusty in the afternoon about coastal Southland.
Highs: 19-25
