Upper North Island

Mostly sunny with light winds tending southwest this afternoon, afternoon northerlies for the Bay Of Plenty. There may be an isolated shower late afternoon / evening otherwise mainly dry. High’s in the low to mid twenties.

Lower North Island

Mostly sunny after any morning cloud breaks away, light winds then afternoon sea breezes. Temperatures in the low twenties for coastal areas, mid twenties for some inland spots.

Upper South Island

Mostly sunny although expect increasing high cloud, there may be some morning cloud for North Westland and about Nelson also. Winds from the north or northwest, gusty east to northeast winds developing about eastern coastal regions in the afternoon however. Afternoon high’s in the low to mid twenties, typically warmer for inland areas and a little cooler near the coast. High’s may reach into the late twenties away from the coast further inland in the east.

Lower South Island

Mostly cloudy for South Westland with rain moving into Fiordland during the afternoon, heavy falls possible. Thick high cloud in the east with spots of rain about Southland from afternoon, possibly spreading into Otago during the evening although rain is more likely overnight. Winds from the north or northeast, northeasterlies becoming gusty about the Otago coastline. Temperatures in the mid to high teens in the west, low twenties for coastal parts of Southland and Otago. Mid to high twenties for inland parts of Southland and Otago.
