A ridge of high pressure brings mainly settled weather today, Southerlies ease over the North Island especially in the east.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny with south to southwesterly winds, easing and dying out later in the evening. Some cloud about Northland from afternoon, especially in the west.
Highs: 13-14

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Any early showers clear about the Manawatu / Kapiti, sunny areas increase from morning. Light southerlies die out around midday. Taranaki is mainly sunny from morning, south to southwest breezes.
Highs: 6-13

Eastern North Island
A few showers peel away from Hawkes Bay in the morning then sunny areas break through, the odd one peppers Gisborne for much of the day then clearing overnight. Breezy southerly winds gradually ease.
Highs: 11-12

Wellington
Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, southerlies ease then dying out in the afternoon.
High: 11

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with light winds.
Highs: 11-12

Canterbury
Sunny after a frosty start, especially inland. Light northeasterly winds.
Highs: 6-9

West Coast
A mainly sunny day, some evening cloud. Light north to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 9-12

Southland & Otago
Sunny after heavy frosts, cloud later in the evening about Southland with overnight spots of rain. North to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 6-10
