An anticyclone brings mainly settled conditions to New Zealand today with light winds for most, a weak front brings some cloud and the odd shower north of Auckland however which gradually clears.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Any morning showers about Northland and Auckland clear then expect sunny spells with light easterly quarter winds. Mainly sunny about the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty, perhaps a touch of cloud at times with light winds.
Highs: 20-21

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Mainly sunny weather with light winds. Some cloud at times about Taranaki. A cold start for inland areas.
Highs: 17-19

Eastern North Island

Sunny with light winds tending east to northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 17-19

Wellington

Mostly sunny with northerly winds.
High: 18

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with light winds tending north to northeasterly in the afternoon.

Highs: 17-19

Canterbury

Sunny, afternoon east to northeasterly winds. A cool start for some inland areas.
Highs: 18-19

West Coast

Mainly sunny weather after any morning cloud clears, light winds. A cool start for some inland areas.
Highs: 17-18

Southland & Otago

Mainly sunny with light winds tending west to northwest for most, winds may be a little breezier about Southland. A cool start for some inland areas.
Highs: 18-19
