Upper North Island

Cloudy areas and occasional sun, a few showers about possibly heavy in the afternoon then clearing away in the evening. Overnight further showers may develop in the west. Northwesterly winds.

Lower North Island

Cloudy areas in the west with showers at times, especially morning and early afternoon then easing. Sunnier skies out east with some high cloud. Winds from the west or northwest.

Upper South Island

Showers or areas of rain along the West Coast with west to northwesterly winds. Morning high cloud and any spots of rain clearing in the east then breaking to a mostly sunny afternoon, north to northwesterly winds. Coastal Otago may stay fairly cloudy from afternoon although some sun is possible.

Lower South Island

Early showers clear Southland then expect cloudy areas and some sun possible, later in the evening further showers move in as northwesterly winds change southwest.
