A breezy northeasterly airflow lies over New Zealand on Saturday while a low is centred west of the country in the Tasman Sea.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Mostly cloudy with the odd shower, many dry periods also. Northeasterly winds freshen.
Highs: 22-24

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Cloudy with the odd shower, there may be some rain, mainly overnight. The Central North Island is dry in the morning. East to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 17-21

Eastern North Island

Cloudy with showers or drizzle patches, Gisborne may be mainly dry in the morning. Southeasterly winds develop in the morning.
Highs: 19-21

Wellington

Cloudy with a few showers, mainly early morning then again from evening. Southeasterly winds.
High: 15-16

Marlborough & Nelson

Cloudy with patchy drizzle, rain moving into the Nelson region from afternoon possibly heavy about Tasman. East to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 15-18

Canterbury

Cloudy with the odd drizzle patch, east to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 12-14

West Coast

About South Westland expect sunny areas and some high cloud, mostly cloudy further north with a few showers. Some rain about Buller from evening. East to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 19-21

Southland & Otago

Any morning drizzle clears then expect cloud and occasional sun, sunny spells more frequent for inland areas. South to southeasterly winds tend more easterly later in the evening.
Highs: 13-18
